4 Things You Need To Do Before You Get An Apple Watch

The Apple Watch is coming out super soon, and we’re pretty excited. If you’re planning on getting one (and why not? they’re kind of amazing), there are a couple of things you should do before you bring your new Apple Watch home.

1. Protect Your Devices

If you haven’t already, it’s high time to get your Mac and iPhone protected from cyber threats. With an Apple Watch, you’ll have one more device that connects to the internet and therefore is susceptible to cyber attacks. Also, it syncs with your iPhone and apps you might have on your computer, so any viruses or malware that find their way to one device could get to all of them. Avoid that possibility completely by downloading protection software – Intego and Norton are both good choices.


2. Clean Up Your Mac

If you’re anything like me, you’ve had your Mac for a while and you’ve just let random pictures and files and downloads pile up like so many dirty dishes in the sink. You may have even noticed your Mac is running slower, but been too lazy to do anything about it. Now is the perfect time to clean that all up, before you get your Apple Watch! And you’ll have all those old photos and files stored safely away for whenever you need them.


4. Spend A Lazy Day Totally Lost

There are two things you’re definitely not going to be able to do anymore once you have an Apple Watch: Have a totally guilt-free lazy day, and get lost. The first is because the Apple Watch as a build-in activity tracker, which will show you how much active and sedentary time you spend during the day. So if you want to spend an entire day in bed watching Netflix and not feel guilty about it in the slightest, do it now!

The second part is because the Apple Watch has built in maps, and you can ask Siri to help you find your way with it. So, basically, you’ll never be lost again. Enjoy that feeling of walking up and down the same block looking for the address you’re sure was supposed to be here, or driving along a road you thought would take you where you’re going but totally isn’t. You won’t have those problems with the Apple Watch!
