Choosing the Right Plan When You Buy VSP Direct

You know the importance of keeping healthy from head to toe, but total body health can be expensive. You’ve learned you can save money with vision insurance, so it’s time to buy VSP Direct and make sure no part of your body is neglected.

When you buy VSP Direct, you need to choose from two plan options: The Standard Plan and the EasyOptions Plan. Which one is right for you? You don't have to take a test to find out. Just answer one question:

Which are you more likely to say?
“I need the lowest price.” OR “I need flexibility.”

If you’re looking for the lowest price, the Standard Plan might be the choice for you.

It includes an annual eye exam with a $15 copay. You can get new frames and lenses OR contact lenses each year with an allowance of $150.
In addition, your coverage includes a few extra benefits: up to $500 off LASIK procedures, up to $2,400 off of a pair of digital hearing aids, and mail-in rebates on Bausch + Lomb contacts.
The cost depends on the number of people covered:

$17 per month ($203.95 per year) for an individual
$32.33 per month ($387.95 per year) for two people
$44.16 per month ($529.95 per year) for a family at the time of publication.

If flexibility is what you value, the EasyOptions Plan is your best bet. It includes everything from the Standard Plan, but comes with something called the EasyOptions Upgrade and includes a membership to the Healthy Vision Association (HVA) for a fee of $1.50 per month.
There are four upgrade options to choose from, and you don’t have to choose until you talk to your doctor at your annual exam.
Each individual covered by your plan chooses one of these four benefits:

No-line bifocal lenses
Light-to-dark lens tinting (photochromic adaptive lenses)
increased frame allowance of $230
increased contact allowance of $230.

Like the Standard Plan, the cost depends on the number of people covered:

$26.25 per month ($315.00 per year) for an individual
$49.90 per month ($598.80 per year) for two people
or $68.20 per month ($818.40 per year) for a family at the time of publication.

No matter which plan you choose, you’re taking a step in the right direction toward total body health. Better still, you’re taking a step towards saving serious money. Go check out the VSP Direct deals, choose a plan, and get ready to be up to your eyeballs in savings.
