High Heels are the Worst (and What to Wear Instead)

I wish I was one of those girls who can confidently strap on a pair of stilettos and walk comfortably. Alas, I am admittedly one of those poor gals who finds it extremely difficult to walk in high heels. I used to be a dancer, so I don’t think it’s a lack of grace. However, you will always find me in flats because I just can’t bear the embarrassment of wobbling around in heels.

When I found this video by blogger Akilah Hughes entitled, “5 Fun New Ways to Walk in Heels,” I felt like I had been slightly vindicated. Looks like I’m not the only one who might struggle pulling off a sexy, heel walk.

So, if you happen to look like a mess when wearing heels, here are some adorable substitute options for still looking fabulous. DSW is a great place to head for a huge selection and amazing prices. Plus, you can use a discount at checkout for even more saving opportunities! Here are just a few options for heel alternatives.

Flats

Sandals

These Jessica Simpson Julia Flat Sandals show off the still-trendy gladiator style, and they allow you to attend events where you can actually walk more than five steps without writhing in pain.

So, if you can pull off heels, more power to you. But if you’re like me, wear these painless styles with pride!
