How I Saved 50% at JackThreads in Under 15-Minutes by Using Facebook

It’s hard to say which is stronger: my addiction to deal hunting or my newfound obsession with shoes. If my habits didn’t balance each other out, my feet would be taking me to the bank on a regular basis – in style, of course. Instead, here’s a look at how I saved over 50% on my last footwear purchase at JackThreads in under 15 minutes.

I subscribe to a lot of daily deal and limited-time offer sites. It’s a fantastic way to get exposed to the latest fashions and hottest deals without getting lost searching the Internet. Sites like Yipit.com and Threadless make it easy by negotiating prices up to 80% full-retail with top brands and emailing them directly to you.

The only catch? Inventory is usually limited and you have to act quickly. That’s why, when JackThreads.com sent me a link to a pair of Zuriick shoes I love for almost half-price, I acted immediately. I quickly added the shoes to a shopping cart to reserve a pair, when JackThreads set a time limit of 15-minutes to complete checkout. The race to save was on.

To ensure I would have enough time to complete my order, I entered all of my billing and shipping information. That way, if I got distracted looking for a deal, I could check out with just one click.

12 minutes remaining.

I noticed a promo code box at checkout so I searched for JackThreads coupons at CouponPal.com and three or four other sites. I found a few codes, but my order didn’t meet the restrictions necessary to cash in.

9 minutes remaining.

I searched for the same shoes at other retailers including Shoes.com, Shoebuy.com, 6pm.com, and the manufacturers website. I found them a few places and even some working coupon codes, but nothing that could beat JackThreads listed price.

5 minutes remaining.

I went back to JackThreads.com to check on my shopping cart and try one last trick.

I visited their JackThreads Facebook page and scrolled down their wall. Just a few posts down, I finally struck gold a “Coupon Quickie” they posted earlier in the day that advertised, “The first 300 members to redeem the code ‘goose’ will receive: EXTRA 15% OFF.”

3 minutes remaining.

I returned to my shopping cart and gave it a try.  Success!

Plenty of time to click “Complete Purchase.”
