We’ve all heard the tired adage, “There’s an app for that.” As silly as it may seem, let’s be honest, there really is an application for just about everything we do these days. Some of my most used apps are those that either help me find something quickly or they help me save cash or score the best coupons.
These money saving apps seem to be popping up more and more, but here are a couple of my favorites. All of these are free to download from the app store:
Ibotta – The tagline for this app is, “Cash, Not Coupons” and that’s exactly what it is! This app puts cash right into your PayPal account just for purchasing particular items at your grocery store. Really! You also get $10 just for trying the app! it doesn't get much better than that.
Red Laser – This is a multi-use app that serves as a barcode scanner, shopping assistant, and QR code reader. The app searches through millions of stores and local retailers to find you the absolute best price on a particular item. Scan any item in the store and the app goes to work to find the retailer that has the lowest price. This is especially useful for those big purchases like TVs and even appliances!
Oranges To Apples – It’s pretty simple – this app will help you calculate how many items you can buy for a certain amount of money. Let’s say you have $50 to spend. The app will help you calculate if you just want to buy a pair of jeans or a t-shirt and lunch for the same amount of cash.
