1. Washington, DC
After the cherry blossoms blooming in April – a big tourist attraction – DC prices for flights and hotels usually dip during May, making it a great destination for Memorial Day weekend. Not only will it be friendly to your wallet, there’s also tons to do and see. Besides all the monuments there are to see in Washington, DC, over Memorial Day weekend there will also be a free concert on the West Lawn of the Capitol, and a Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning.
2. Palm Springs, CA
If you want to just skip to summer already, Palm Springs is the perfect destination for your Memorial Day weekend getaway. An easy 2 hour drive from downtown LA, it’s pretty much always hot and sunny in Palm Springs. Spend the whole weekend poolside, treat yourself to a spa, or even check out the various desert tours offered. If you’re looking for more outdoor adventures, Palm Springs isn’t too far from Joshua Tree National Park, which, with its otherworldly landscapes, is totally worth a visit.
