The 7 Best Dry Shampoos

Let’s be honest: we wish we could rock fresh, clean hair everyday. For all those times you can’t make it through the whole wash, blow dry, style process – dry shampoos can provide the perfect solution. As your faithful Beauty Geek, I have tried and tested tons of products to see which is the best dry shampoo on the market now.

Dry shampoos are sprays or powders that work to freshen dirty hair. They get rid of oil and grease and make your locks appear to be newly-shampooed. They’re ideal for saving time or making your blown-out look last a lot longer.

Whether you need an after-gym freshen-up or you slept through your morning alarm, these are my seven ultimate no-wash solutions.

1. The All Star: Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

I love the Detox Dry Shampoo by Drybar for a professional-looking blowout at times when I can’t make it into one of the Drybar salon locations. Drybar has a great line of styling products, and trust me, they know a thing or two about prolonging that great blown-out look! You can find their products at Sephora or on the Drybar site.

This shampoo comes in Original for light hair colors and Brunette for dark-haired beauties. It has a very clean, fresh scent, plus it adds amazing texture and the perfect amount of  volume. I use this dry shampoo even when styling my clean hair for extra volume.

2. The Best Smelling: Alterna’s Cleanse Extend Translucent Dry Shampoo

I love to use Alterna’s Cleanse Extend Translucent Dry Shampoo before dates because I always get compliments on how nice my hair smells. This product comes in three different scents: fruity, floral, and fresh. I tested all three while shopping at Sephora, and my favorite was the fruity Mango Coconut. Every time I spray it, I picture myself on a tropical island.

3. The Double Duty: Bumble and bumble Pret-a-Powder

A great double-duty dry shampoo is the Bumble and bumble Pret-a-Powder from Sephora. The powder actually includes a dry shampoo, so it’s perfect for hair that hasn’t been washed in a couple of days. It helps extend the time your blowout lasts too! Oh, and when you use a Sephora coupon code, you can snag some great savings, so you don’t have to worry about the $26 price tag on this one.

4. The Traveler: Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray

In my opinion, the Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray doesn’t have the same texturizing-volumizing power as some of the other products I’ve mentioned. However, it does come in a mini 1.4 oz size at Sephora, so it’s perfect for traveling or keeping in your purse for easy hair touch-ups!

5. The Classic: Pssssssst Instant Dry Shampoo Spray

Besides using baby powder on dirty hair, Psssssst Dry Shampoo is as close as you can get to a traditional oil-removing product. It remains a fan favorite and is extremely budget friendly. At Ulta, you can snatch up a bottle for just six bucks. You can also add in an Ulta coupon code for even more savings. My advice: make sure to shake the bottle well before spraying and in between sprays for optimal results.

6. The Budget Friendly: Batiste Dry Shampoo

One of the best dry shampoos is Batiste Dry Shampoo because it comes in 6 different scents. My favorite is the Cherry version. Not only does it bring some life to limp hair, it also adds texture to your locks. The best part: it’s only $8 at Ulta.

7. The Color Friendly: Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo

If you have colored hair, this Batiste Hint of Color Shampoo is a great option. Aside from giving your hair a clean look, it actually works to blend in root regrowth of colored hair. It comes in Light and Blonde, Dark and Deep Brown, and Vibrant and Red – so there’s something for everyone! Buy this one at Ulta, and you can skip shampooing and make your color last longer at the same time.
