Toshiba representatives have stated that they are specifically concerned with the human rights atrocities that have taken place in the Democratic Republic of Congo and surrounding countries in over a decade of civil war. Since 2011, they have conducted an annual survey of their suppliers of materials for semiconductors regarding issues with conflict minerals.
