There are big things in store at the Microsoft store for September and beyond: new releases, specials, mark-downs, close-outs, sales, and free ice cream. Alright, the ice cream part isn’t true but the rest is. Just look!
Grand Theft Auto 5
If you pre-order GTA5 for the Xbox 360 at the Microsoft Store, you’ll get a coupon for 1,600 Microsoft Points (approximately $20 in value). Microsoft recently ended the Microsoft Points program, so the points will be converted into real money that will deposited into your account.
Rockstar's “Grand Theft Auto” series has been a best seller formore than 15 years, having sold nearly 120 million units of the various editions. GTA5 is expected to be a record breaker, so pre-ordering is a very good idea unless you enjoy waiting in line, camping out on sidewalks, or being told it’s out of stock.
The Xbox One
You can now see the next generation Xbox One in real-life at your local Microsoft Store. Knowing that people wouldn’t be able to stop themselves from touching it, MS has placed it behind protective glass, much like the Mona Lisa.
It won’t be for sale until late in the year and will be priced at $499. This will include the system, one controller, a headset, Kinect, and a free 14-day trial for Xbox Live Gold. If you can’t make it out to an actual store to see one, you can still get a good look at it in the following video:
If you reserve an Xbox One ahead of time, MS guarantees you’ll get it on launch day, as well as being eligible for special bonuses. Check out all the details here.
Big Discounts on Xbox 360 Games
With the coming release of the Xbox One, you might expect that games designed for the 360 would be being priced to move. Well, you’re right because Microsoft is clearing out their Xbox 360 inventory. Many games can now be purchased for under $20, with many more priced just a few dollars higher. Titles include: The Darkness 2, Max Payne 3, Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition, Ninja Gaiden 3, Quake 4, Street Fighter x Tekken, Silent Hill: Downpour, Soul Calibur 5, Syndicate...okay, this list is getting very long, so check out the full list right here.
Yes, they are the next big thing, and yes, you can get one right now. MakerBot is selling its 3D printers at the Microsoft Stores in its push to make this new technology available to everyone. You can get their Replicator 2 on the Microsoft website, and as demand increases, prices are expected to come way down. Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that flat screen TV’s cost 10 grand. Now you can pick one up for the prices of a case of Red Bull. That’s an exaggeration, but you get the point.
Price Drop for the Surface Touch Cover
Microsoft has reduced the price of the Surface Touch Cover to $79. This means you can now pick up the Surface RT bundle for $449. Add to that the other discounts from Microsoft, and you are talking a sweet deal for a sweet little machine.
